Dendritic Printing: from Cards To Art!

Make cool prints using low tech supplies. I absolutely love this technique. It is so easy your kids could do it too.

Any smooth service would work for this. Some people use glass from old photo frames, but I don’t like the possibility of the glass breaking as you do need to apply pressure. Tiles worked really well for me, but tempered glass, like chopping boards, or Perspex sheets work really well too.

Faux Cyanotype Prints

Create prints using stamps and ink that look like Cyanotype! Cyanotype prints are named after the colour Cyan, which is a standard printers ink , and photosensitive paper. You can achieve a very similar effect using low tech materials. Watch the video to find out how it’s done.

We’re All Connected!

Here is a walkthrough of how to create a Neurographic Painting using watercolours .

I used Arches 100% cotton paper and my Windsor and Newton field box of paints and spent a lovely meditative afternoon making art.

Have a marvellously creative day,

Art Journal: Lavinia Backgrounds with Magicals Powders. Mixed Media.

My latest #youtubetutorial #artjournal upload. For this project I used my "Hand Book" watercolour art journal 6" x 6" from Global Arts . The paper in this journal is thick and gorgeous to work with.

The Stamps I used were FINE FLOWERS and FINE LEAVES from #DarkroomDoor,  and the Background is from #LaviniaStamps. The butterfly and Journalling quote are from a sticker book I purchased from Spotlight (available also from American Crafts) from #OneCanoeTwo.

The stamps were stamped in tuxedo Memento Black Ink , then sprinkled and spritzed with #LindysGang Magicals Powders from the Drop Dead Divas range.

Colour Coordination Journalling.

Sometimes it's nice to work on a clean and simple project. I love a neat work station, and you can see from the photo that I kept the theme simple, and the colours coordinated.

I love this shell plate that I bought many years ago, and use it to store what I'm working on. Here I was using leaves, twigs, brown paper bags and Kraft tags, along with twine and soft nature coloured washi tape. This was a serene, calm project, and a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon unwinding.
Happy weekend!
