The Magic of Salt and Granulating Watercolor: 6 Cards.

 If you’ve never tried granulating Watercolor paints mixed with salt, then this technique will knock your socks off! 😄I used Daniel Smith Paints, plus Winsor and Newton Paynes Grey to create these 6 cards, then finished them with diecut greetings. Transparent Watercolor Leaves with Doodles.

Using more water in the second layer makes these leaves look transparent. 

A sepia marker gives a much softer accent than black, and ties in with the colour scheme.

This is the no line colouring technique I demonstrate in the video using Inktense pencils.

After I filmed the video, I used the Inktense pencils to draw lines directly into wet watercolour to create this fish painting.

Look at the vibrancy! This has now become my all -time favourite way to combine ink and watercolours. I added the gold and white lines with paint pens once the paint had dried.

2022 Christmas Baubles Watercolor Painting: Tips and Tricks.

 This watercolour painting was made using a small ceramic dish as a stamp to create the 3 circle shapes. 

I show you how to create easy dimension in each bauble by lifting out the colour using a simple tissue. Gently “kissing” each circle together creates beautiful bleeds. 

2022 Christmas Cards: Easy Masked Watercolor Trees.

No fail Watercolor technique, perfect for beginners. These trees were a breeze to paint ( I painted the whole 3 at once! ,) if you haven’t tried the Chux magic Eraser on your Watercolor yet, you’ll be amazed to see how easy it is to fix mistakes. I used my Daniel Smith paints for this, but budget watercolour paints would work too.

2022 Christmas Craft Fair Ideas: Stamped Herb Bookmarks, and a Posy of Fresh Herbs!

I am stocking up on goodies to sell at this year’s Christmas Craft Fair. So far I have made masses of Christmas cards, and I think these cute herb bookmarks will be top sellers. 

I have a raided my herb garden for a sweet smelling herb bouquet, and I’ll show you how to make a posy of fresh herbs. 

The bookmarks can also be used as gift tags. The tassels came from Amazon , in a pack of 200! 

I will have bookmarks for days. LOL

2022 Christmas Cards: Glimmer Baubles With Gold!

These three cards have a beautiful sheen, thanks to the red glimmer paper, and gold foil diecuts.

I found the small ornament dies on Amazon, and paired them with the lovely detailed dies from Stampinup. I added adhesive paper to the small ornaments, so they wouldn’t cut all the way through, but give an embossed look, which makes them look metallic. The gold twine is by ValueCraft, which I found at the local dollar store.

 Take your Watercolor pencils to the next level with this glazing technique. I use glazes in all my Watercolor paintings to intensify the color. These cards were a dream to make! Easy, no muss, no fuss watercoloring.

Christmas 2022: Six fun doodled Christmas Trees!

 

This clever tracing hack helps you align your sketches perfectly every time.

I used Winsor and Newton Promarkers for these doodled trees, but any marker would work for these cards. A stamping platform aligns your stamped greeting. I used Canson XL Watercolor paper, but you could use smooth white card. If you wanted to use Copic markers then layer onto a card base, as alcohol based markers will bleed through.
