Easy Accordion Swatch Book with Simple Bookbinding.

This swatch book is a great way to get to know your paints. I have swatched all my paints, pencils, markers and art materials by setting aside time each time I make a new purchase to sit down and play. It’s a great discipline to help keep track of what you own!

We can sometimes feel overwhelmed with the amount of stash we have tucked away in our craft rooms and art studios, and I love having an easy reference for my art materials and craft stash. This fun little book was a joy to make.

I used my Inktense pencils to create designs on each pebble by drawing directly into the wet paint.

Have a marvellously creative weekend!

Adding 14 MORE Colours to my Daniel Smith Watercolor Palette.

See my favourite Daniel Smith Colors as I swatch them and add to my empty palette.

My recommendations for adding to the 24 Half pans with the FREE empty metal box for just this purpose!

I share my secret for painting perfect rectangles using washi tape, and how to add and remove pages from a spiral bound journal.

The Magic of Salt and Granulating Watercolor: 6 Cards.

If you’ve never tried granulating Watercolor paints mixed with salt, then this technique will knock your socks off! 😄I used Daniel Smith Paints, plus Winsor and Newton Paynes Grey to create these 6 cards, then finished them with diecut greetings. They fit a standard notecard size envelope. I hope you give this a try. Have a marvellously creative weekend. Vicki x

The Magic of Cling Wrap and Watercolor! Fun Technique!

Talk about playtime fun! These cards were so easy, anyone can do it, but the results were really pretty. Using good ol’ cling wrap ( kitchen wrap, Saran Wrap, glad wrap, depending on where you’re from ), the hardest part is waiting for them to dry.

I did take a couple of sneak peeks , but decided to leave them overnight, and I’m glad I did.

They turned out great.

Have a marvellously creative day! Vicki x

Dreamy Line and Wash BOKEH technique with a Magic Eraser!

This dreamy effect can be achieved easily with non staining Watercolor. I used a circles template to lift out the shapes, being sure to wipe down the back of the template with a paper towel so as not to spread water where it wasn’t wanted. I also altered the stamp by extending the branch using an ultra fine tip sharpie. I used Canson XL paper and Daniel Smith Watercolor.

The stamp is “Free As A Bird” by Stampin Up.
