A glimpse into my back yard! These cockatoos were doing a mating dance right outside my studio! This very rare footage shows the sulphur crested cockatoos with crests raised, dancing their little hearts out. WARNING! this video is extremely loud LOL.
The birds live in the Royal National Park, which is just across the river.
What is line and wash technique? This is a term used in watercolour painting, where paint is added to an image sketched in ink.
You can use stamps to achieve amazing effects that look just like line and wash sketches without the fuss.
Instead of colouring within the lines you can do a loose wash of background and achieve the effect of a watercolour painting!
Line and Wash Watercolor Technique using stamps as your line, then washing loosely with Gansai Tambi paints. any watercolour paints would work with this easy method!
Watch the YouTube tutorial on How To Make the KRAFT NOTE CARD BOX from Stampin Up.
This box pairs perfectly with the Foil Frenzy Designer Paper. I had some left in my stash and realised the Kraft paper is a perfect match! Enjoy the video. Vicki x
Make cool prints using low tech supplies. I absolutely love this technique. It is so easy your kids could do it too.
Any smooth service would work for this. Some people use glass from old photo frames, but I don’t like the possibility of the glass breaking as you do need to apply pressure. Tiles worked really well for me, but tempered glass, like chopping boards, or Perspex sheets work really well too.
After studying printmaking in the Regional Gallery, and learning how to successfully print monotypes, Linocuts, lithographs and Collagraphs, I was excited to see what new techniques I could experiment with using my gel press.
I discovered I LOVE printing, having been a stamper for so long.
Smooth white cardstock from Stampin Up and distress oxide inks from Ranger made the perfect marriage of creamy sharp edged prints using just 2 colours and several stencils per A4 sheet.
It is possible to produce beautiful prints every time using this method. Each A4 sheet I printed yielded 4 card fronts, which I then adhered to card bases and now have cards for days!
Create prints using stamps and ink that look like Cyanotype! Cyanotype prints are named after the colour Cyan, which is a standard printers ink , and photosensitive paper. You can achieve a very similar effect using low tech materials. Watch the video to find out how it’s done.
