Gel Printing

Have you ever tried gel printing? Here is one of my latest prints. I used a stencil and some punchilena (the wastage left over from sequins ) bubble wrap, tape and acrylic paint to create this layered collaged print.

It took lots of time under the gel press to get to this stage of work,
but you can start with a simple stencil and one layer print and get some very cool results.
Here’s a tip:
don’t throw out those background papers, you can always come back and layer more on top.
It’s trial and error to see what works,
but you might surprise yourself and pull a print or two you really love.
Have a marvellously creative day,

Art Journal Flip Through Using Gel Prints.

Watch my latest YouTube video to see how my gel printing spree ended up becoming a 16 page art journal. I love my herb garden, and decided to print the herbs 🌿 🪴 I have been growing!

Have an awesome day, Vicki x

Bright For Baby

Cards for little ones tend to be bright and cheery.

This card is no exception, and the addition of googly eyes

is the perfect embellishment.

Take some time to stamp on the front of the envelope.

I stuck to 3 colours ( all a version of the primary spectrum )

and mass produced a stack of cards, since I liked them so much.

Have a creative day! Vicki x🎨🖌

Balancing Bright Colours

This card was a CASE from the catalogue, and I love how the colours have been used to bring balance to what could have been a very bossy colour scheme. A small touch of bright goes a long way.

In this case there is plenty of white to balance those joyful pops of neon. The design is simple yet makes a statement. I love this composition.

Have a glorious weekend.
Happy crafting,

Gel Print Cards.

Watch my Youtube video ( click above) and see how I create pretty cards using gel press prints. Choose some simple sentiment stamps. I love anything with a brush script. I used silver, gold and copper embossing powders and heat set them to produce lots of cards.

                                                                 Enjoy! Vicki x🎨🖌

Simply Stunning Silhouettes.

Here I have combined die cut birds with stamped sentiments
and added a hand drawn line ( I used a thick black sharpie)
on bright card stock to produce a simple but eye catching card.

For the second card I bent a border stamp
into a curve to allow a perch for the bird to sit on.

This is a quick and easy project,
and you could mass produce these cards very easily.
I rounded the bottom corners
and added a white layer inside for the message.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Shop Your Stash !

Using patterned paper to create multiple projects means you’re “shopping your stash”.

Don’t waste that pretty pattern. Put it to good use as cards, bookmarks, even using any leftover scraps to trim the envelope flap. Here I have made a stack of cards, and with the leftover paper I made bookmarks.

3 Magical Mermaid Bookmarks : Stampinup Tutorial

Stampin' Up! Bookmark Tutorial.
Winter is great time to curl up with a good book in front of the fire. We were running out of bookmarks to keep up with our reading, so I have made 3 more using different techniques, and the Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin' Up!
