WaterColour Masterclass: In the Meadow: colouring without outlines.

This card was created using a new stamp set "In the Meadow," available on January 5th in the new Occasions Catalogue #140751 wood or #1405754 clear mount.
The technique I have used requires a very light touch with the aqua painter in order not to smudge the outline of the deer, which has been stamped in baked Brown Sugar on Stampin' Up! watercolour paper. I have used a quarter sheet for the focal image. The background was masked (I cut out a second image of the two deer on a post it note and stuck it over the stamped image while I sponged the background using soft sky, lost lagoon, and mossy meadow for the grass ).
The card was layered up on corrugated paper then mounted on a lost lagoon A5 card base.
The sentiment, from the stamp set, was stamped onto a scrap piece of watercolour paper that had been washed with mossy meadow.
Linen thread finishes the card.

Need more Tags!

Do you ever get all your presents wrapped at Christmas and find you need just one more tag?
Of course I had to use my favourite set, "To you and Yours" again and make this little darling.
It doesn't show in the photo, but I have used a Wink of Stella pen in clear to add some subtle sheen to the greeting and the stars. This is a Sneak Peek of one of the new items in the Occasions Catalogue, which is coming out in January.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I wish you and your family all the very best for the Christmas Season and the New Year.
warmest regards,
Vicki xx

Extras From the Shaker Card Kit.

There are a stack of extra pieces in the Shaker Card Kit, once you have finished making all the cards. I decided to use the "To You and Yours" Stamp set (yes, again, I am obsessed with this set!) and make a couple of quick cards with some of the leftover pieces, and there are still many pieces to make cards with.  I had fun using up the "scraps" and creating these fun cards.

More Baubles! To You and Yours.

Here is another card showing how to get extra use from the "To You and Yours" stamp set.

I punched out 3 stars onto Island Indigo, Hello Honey and Melon Mambo scraps, then punched circles with the 1 1/4" circle punch.
I stamped the Bauble hanger and string from the stamp set in the same colour inks, onto a whisper white base, and used my Stampin' Write marker to draw a bow at the top of each string, extending the Island indigo and Melon Mambo strings slightly.
The greeting is stamped in Melon Mambo ink.
I attached the 3 baubles with dimensionals.
I mounted the art piece onto a Hello Honey card base.
I lined the inside of the card with another whisper white piece and stamped on the other greeting from the stamp set for a finished look.

Sweet Little Christmas Tree Card.

I love using the Note cards and envelopes for a smaller, more simple card. The inks I have used on this modern card are Island Indigo and Lost Lagoon, with a Calypso Coral Greeting stamped onto the Whisper white Note card base.

To You and Yours Stamp Set Re-imagined.Stampin' Up! Sutherland Shire.

Here is a unique way to use the "To You and Yours" stamp set #139819.

I simply used a ruler and the fine tip of my Night Of Navy Stampin' Write marker to draw a line 2/3 of the way down my Very Vanilla layering piece, then stamped the bauble holder image in Night Of Navy ink. I stamped the greeting at the centre above the ruled line, then I hand drew a bow across the ruled line.
On a separate piece of Very Vanilla Card stock  I stamped the image of the deer and trees then punched it out using the 1 3/4" circle punch. I popped it up on a dimensional and mounted the art piece onto a Night of Navy card base.
I love the balance achieved by the rule of thirds in this card.

Christmas Shadow Box Frame, Hello December. Stampin' Up!

Make this Shadow Box for your Christmas Home Decor using an Ikea Shadow Box Frame.

This project is made using the Hello December 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack # 139654.
The only additional supplies you will need are some adhesives and whichever papers you choose for the backing sheets.
I have used a sheet of 12" x 12" DSP from the Home For Christmas paper (reverse of the Christmas Tree pattern) and a sheet of Lost Lagoon 12" x 12".
The Shadow box Frame is Ribba, size 50 x 50 cm (19 3/4" x 19 3/4"), available from Ikea.

The circles for the fluttering banner are punched out using the 3/4", 1", and 1 1/4" circle punches, then attached to the fine gold thread included in the kit.
The patterned circles in the kit are popped up on double dimensionals after winding the fine gold gold thread directly onto the sticky reverse side of the stickers....easy!
The vellum circle stickers are adhered straight to the page so they will give a translucent effect.
The circle banner was attached to the back of the frame using sticky tape.

This project was quick to put together and looks sensational in real life. The photos don't really do it justice. The sparkle catches the light and the banner casts a pretty shadow over the glass frame, inviting the viewer in for a closer look.
