Birthday Cards - Stampin' Up! Australia

I needed to make 2 birthday cards this week.
  • This card is for a teenager's 18th birthday. I wanted a nice masculine card, so I used the - Stampin' Up! pennant punch to make a banner.
  • I cut the scallop edge using the scallop framelit.
  • Next I scored the front of the card every 1/2 inch using the Simply Scored Tool to give an embossed effect. This is a really versatile way to jazz up any card front and you can score on the diagonal as well if you have the diagonal plate.
  •  Each flag has a circle cut from the owl builder punch ( middle sized circle)
and then I layered a 1 inch circle onto the smallest apothecary framelit die, which I cut out using the Big Shot.
  • The stamp is from the the Pennant Parade stamp set, and I finished the card off with some linen thread, and glued on some separate tiny bows.
The card stock used was Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Night of Navy, and Daffodil Delight.

This next card was for a teenage girl who loves the clean and simple look. I kept the card fresh by using only two colours, Whisper White and Pear Pizzaz.
  • I started by punching out the flower with the blossom punch near the bottom right hand corner of the card.
  • Next I ran the card front through the Big Shot using the polka dot embossing folder.
  • I layered a piece of Twitterpated Designer Paper inside the card and attached the punched out blossom in the top right hand corner making sure it didn't show through onto the front when the card was closed. This allows a space for journalling.
  • Next I cut a strip of pear pizzaz card stock for the front and punched out the flower centre using the boho blossoms punch.
  • I stamped the greeting from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set
  • I pierced holes using the paper piercing tool and inserted white brads into both these pieces of card stock then affixed the greeting to the front and the centre to the flower (which I lined up with the card closed) using Dimensionals.
The card stock used was Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, and paper from the Twitterpated Designer Series.
I hope you like the cards!

Today's Class Challenge - Stampin' Up!- Stampin' Up! Australia

Today's challenge was to design a card using the - Stampin' Up! blossom builder punch (using the 'wing' as petals) and the 3/4" circle punch, as well as the apothecary framelits die and scalloped border to create a daisy card.

Alison, Katrina, Patricia and Katrena were able to choose their own colour combos and everyone made a card uniquely their own.

If you would like to join our Tuesday afternoon  - Stampin' Up! class and be a part of the fun, just send me an email or call me on 0414 393 035, and I'll reserve your place for you.

Apothecary Framelits Collection - Stampin' Up!

Picture
I used Stampin Write Markers and a Blender Pen to hand colour this card. The 3D effect is achieved by shading all around the image, including the banner, with Sahara Sand, which is one of the lightest Stampin Write Markers.
I first stamped the image onto Stampin' Up! whisper white card stock using early espresso ink, then picked up the colour with my blending pen directly from the markers (Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive). I finished off by shading in Sahara Sand, then ran it through the Big Shot using the Labels Collection Framelits die.
Next I cut a larger piece of Old Olive Card stock and 2 larger pieces of Rich Razzleberry Card stock (one for the card back, which I scored using my scoring tool near the top of the back piece to make a "hinge" so the card would open) using the Big Shot. I used dimensionals to pop up the focal image and added some pearls.

Masculine Birthday Card - Stampin' Up!

Picture

I made this card for my friend Rob's 60th birthday. He owns a red FJ holden just like the one on the card.
I didn't have a photo of his car, so I googled "red FJ holden" and found this image, which I printed out on photo paper, cropped it by cutting round the outline, then popped it up using dimensionals.
The card was matted onto Stampin' Up! whisper white card stock, using a real red and basic black frame made with the Framelits Labels Collection Die. I added the numbers (from my stash...they are thin plywood, painted with acrylic paint in white) .I popped up the red base with dimensionals The stamps used are from the Apothecary Art stamp set, which I love, and the For Everything stamp set.
